Studio Policies and Expectations

Attire:

Appropriate attire is essential to the discipline and training of a dancer.  Proper dancewear and shoes are required for ALL classes.  Girls should wear a solid colored leotard and tights for every class.  Dancers ages 5+ should wear convertible tights as they may be required to dance barefoot at times.  All undergarments should be discreet.  Hair should be secured completely off the face; bangs should be pinned back. Boys should wear solid colored dance pants and a form-fitting solid colored shirt.

Proper fitting of dance shoes is essential to your dancer’s safety and technical training.  Ellmans’s Dancewear is a great local supplier who can properly fit your dancer.  Please inquire for class-specific shoe requirements.

Liquid Performance Arts and its teachers reserve the right to excuse any student from class who is not properly attired for learning.  No refunds will be given if a student is asked to sit out due to attire.  When in doubt, please ask a member of our staff.

Studio Etiquette:

It is expected that every student and parent adhere to standards of dance etiquette.  The staff and teachers of Liquid Performance Arts are dedicated to providing each student with the highest quality experience and training possible.  It is expected that students arrive on time, and prepared to dance at the start time of their class.  It is also expected that all students and parents/guardians be team-players and supportive of their fellow dancers and the LPA Staff.  Behaviors on behalf of a dancer or parent/guardian that are disruptive to class will receive 1 warning.  LPA staff reserves the right to dismiss any student for failure to adhere to etiquette standards without refund.

A special note to the parents of our youngest students:  While dance class is exciting, it can also be overwhelming at first.  There are new rules, and it can be hard to pay attention for an extended period of time.  Therefore, it may be necessary to those who are not paying attention or being disruptive to class, to sit out for a few minutes so that other students may have a quality experience.  Please allow us the opportunity to teach all students in a way that will be beneficial.

Annual Spring Recital:

Parents WILL be asked to volunteer to assist in the dressing rooms and back-stage.  All students will participate in the Annual Spring Recital’s Finale and Bows.  Please do not leave after your child finishes dancing.  Special Awards and Scholarships will be given out at this time.
